EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

Education forms a large part of all VIN + OMI projects and programmes. We work with universities and colleges across the UK and lecture virtually to international institutions. Our groundbreaking work is in museum collections worldwide.

VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM

The Victoria and Albert museum selected items from our groundbreaking STING collection for their permanent fashion collection.

The items selected were made from our new to market nettle fabric, made from waste nettles as part of a collaboration with Prince Charles. Other garments included no-kill llama fleece, and our VIN + OMI produced UK linen.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SCOTLAND

We were commissioned to make a focal dress for an exhibition in the National Museum of Scotland. We wanted to showcase a range of our textiles combined with one of our political slogans. The dress, which was showcased as the finale dress at our RESIST fashion show, was made from horse hair clippings taken from the stables at Prince Charles’s Highgrove, nettles from Highgrove and UK linen taken from VIN + OMI flax fields

LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION

We work with students from LCF on projects and our shows. One of our key projects with the students was our groundbreaking Bin to Body project. The students designed collection bins for waste plastic bottles from London Fashion Week Men’s and then followed the process of turning the waste bottles into rPET textiles and accessories to include in our collection for the main London Fashion Week
