SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
When we develop our products, textiles and projects we always include a social or environmental impact project. These projects often start a circular economic project, leave a legacy and ongoing benefit
MISCANTHUS UK
Planting of UK Miscanthus fields started in 2020. In 2023 the first harvest of the grass produced sample textiles. Miscanthus Giganteus grows up to 12ft in height and is suitable for a range of textiles and eco applications including fuel. Our sustainable, organic, crop is the backbone for a new project MISCANTHUS UK.
The project partners with UK agencies to encourage young people to develop a range of new skills and trains them in agriculture, sustainable practices, accounting, textile production and marketing. The project encourages all participants to cross between different areas of the project to learn new skills.
The end goal is to develop new ways of working with the environment in a sustainable way and produce new products that produce a profit that is put back into the project. The circular model is heavily focussed on training and will be adapted for a range of rehabilitation and special needs education
